Somalia-Born British Man Charged with Attempted Murder

A Somalia-born British man has been charged with five counts of attempted murder after a car struck multiple pedestrians in west London, prompting a major police investigation.

The Metropolitan Police said Timir Ahmed Mohamed, 34, of Grange Park in the London Borough of Ealing, was charged following the incident on Saturday afternoon near the Marks & Spencer store in Ealing Broadway, one of west London’s busiest shopping areas.

In addition to the attempted murder charges, Mohamed faces allegations of criminal damage, dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision, and failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis.

Police said officers were called to Ealing Broadway at approximately 2:29 p.m. after receiving reports that a vehicle had collided with several pedestrians.

Emergency services responded to the scene, where multiple people were injured. Authorities have not yet released further details about the victims’ conditions or a possible motive behind the incident.

Mohamed has been remanded in custody and was scheduled to appear before Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The Metropolitan Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant video footage to come forward.

The case is being treated as a serious criminal investigation as detectives work to determine what led to the incident in one of London’s busiest commercial districts.
